(Order of the Court was made by R.SUBBIAH,J.) The present writ petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 24.08.2016 submitted in person for the issuance of Hindu Malaivedan ST community certificate to his son M.Ramamoorthy in the light of the report of the Thasildar, Aalandur stationed at Nanganallur, Chennai dated 24.06.2017 within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Though very many contentions have been raised in this writ petition, we are of the opinion that since the scope of the prayer is very limited, we are not inclined to traverse into the entire contentions raised by the petitioner. It is the only grievance of the petitioner that though positive report was given by the Tahsildar in favour of his son with regard to the issuance of Scheduled Tribe community certificate as Hindu Malaivedan, the respondent has not passed any order so far. Thus, he sought for a suitable direction to the respondent with regard to the issuance of the community certificate.

Since already a report was submitted to the respondent herein, this Court directs the respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer to expedite the enquiry in respect of issuance of the Schedule Tribe community certificate to the petitioner's son based on the recommendation submitted by the Tahsildar and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
