O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to immediately retrieve, preserve, and provide him a copy of the CCTV footage from Thirunallar Police Station, from 10.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. on 28.01.2025.

2. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner, when he visited the third respondent Police Station, was ill-treated, and the third respondent also snatched his spectacles, mobile phone, and abused him with filthy language. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation before the District and Sessions Court, Karikkal, and the Hon'ble Chief Minister's Cell, Puducherry, to provide the CCTV footages of that day.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Puducherry, appearing for the respondents, would submit that the petitioner, except for the third respondent, had sent a representation to all the authorities concerned. He further submitted that the CCTV footages for the date 28.01.2025 are very much available on record.

5. In view of the above, the third respondent is directed to retrieve, preserve, and provide a copy of the CCTV footage from Thirunallar Police Station, from 10.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. on 28.01.2025, to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
