ORDER
A.No.1102 of 2021 in A.No.268 of 2021 is filed praying to modify the order dated 08.02.2021 in A.No. 268 of 2021 to give meritorious award of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand Only) to each one boy student and one girl student, who secured highest marks in VIIIth examination, as certified by the Headmaster of Thai Tamil Palli, Rosanai, Tindivanam 604 001 from RSRM Trust with effect from the academic year 2020-21.
2. The learned A.G. & O.T. has filed a report, dated 01.03.2021, stating as follows:
i) The Administrator General and Official Trustee of Tamil Nadu [AG & OT] has filed an Application Nos.262 to 269 of 2021 for charity purpose of various reliefs to the beneficiary of Thai Tamil Palli, Rosanai, Thindivanam 604 001. The prayer in A.No.268 of 2021 is "to give meritorious award of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand Only) to each one boy student and one girl student, who secured highest marks in V examination, as certified by the Headmaster of Thai Tamil Palli, Rosanai, Tindivanam 604 001 from RSRM Trust with effect from the academic year 2020-21". 2 / 6
ii) The AG & OT further submits that those applications were allowed by a common order dated 08.02.2021. The order copy is not yet received, only web copy is filed. After that the necessary payment and letters were sent to the suppliers and the beneficiary school. After receipt of those letters the President and Headmaster of the school brought to the notice to the AG & OT that in their school the classes are from I to VIII standard. Further, in the order in A.No.268 of 2021, inadvertenly the meritorious award was decided to give to two students of each one boy and one girl, who secure highest marks in their V standard examination. It was purely oversight while drafting. It is required to be modified as VIII standard with the same meritorious award of Rs.30,000/- to each one boy student and one girl student who secure highest marks in their VIII examination.
iii) The AG & OT further submits that the Manager of Thai Tamil Palli, Rosanai, Tindivanam sent a request letter dated 24.02.2021 by bringing to the notice that the meritorious award to the V students is to be modified as VIII students. The interest and the purpose of charity is to help the highest class 3 / 6
students, but inadvertently, it was typed as V student instead of VIII student in A.No.268 of 2021. Hence, this modification application is filed to modify the operating portion of the order dated 08.02.2021 made in A.No.268 of 2021 as VIII examination instead of V examination without any further change in the operative portion.
3. Hence, the above application has been filed for the reliefs stated supra.
4. This Court heard the submissions made by the learned A.G .& O.T. and perused the materials available on record.
5. Taking into consideration the above report submitted by the learned A.G. & O.T., and on a perusal of the same, this Court accepts the said report and accordingly, this application is ordered as prayed for. 26.03.2021 Speaking Orders: Yes pvs 4 / 6
