This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to file the final report in Crime No.376 of 2022 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Mallur 1/4

Police Station, Salem, at present District Crime Branch, Salem. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondent. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that Crime No.3 of 2022 was transferred from the Inspector of Police, Mallur Police Station, Salem to District Crime Branch, Salem. and a new crime number has been assigned as Crime No.21 of 2023. The learned Additional Public further submit that the respondent police may be permitted to file a final report within a period of three months. 4.In view of the above, the District Crime Branch, Salem is directed to either file a final report or closure report, as the case may be, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order under due intimation to the defacto complainant.
