O R D E R

This petition is filed for a direction to the learned Principal District Sessions Court, Thiruvannamalai to consider the petitioners' bail petition on the same day of their surrender in connection with Crime No.1192 of 2017, since the offences are pertaining to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Section 302 of IPC. Therefore, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be considered under specific bar under Section 18 of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

3. In view of the above, the direction sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
