ORDER

It is the claim of the petitioner that, after acquiring the qualification of Diploma in Agriculture in Thanthai Roever Institute of Agriculture and Rural Development at Perambalur, she has applied for the post of Assistant Agricultural Officer, which was published vide notification No.01/2015, dated 30.01.2015, by the respondent / the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC). Though she applied for the said post through TNPSC website, she was not able to download the hall-ticket, therefore, she has approached the respondent to know the reason for rejection, however, the same was displayed in the TNPSC website saying that Christian SC treated as BC, examination fee not paid and also not claimed fee exemption.

It is further stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner that, due to some inadvertent mistake, the petitioner, at the time of filling up an application, ticked Christian SC column, although he belongs to BC category. In any event, if this Court gives a direction, the petitioner is prepared to pay the requisite pay for the said category and on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.

In reply, learned counsel appearing for the respondent TNPSC submitted that the petitioner, being BC candidate, has wrongly sent her application specifically marking her community as Christian SC category, therefore, ignorance sought to be placed before this Court cannot be accepted. She further stated that now all the staffs in the TNPSC are sent out to various examination centres to make suitable arrangement for examination, therefore, issuance of a hallticket would be impossible at the last minute.

4. It is an admitted fact that the petitioner belongs to BC category. But, while filling up the application, she ticked the column meant for Christian SC category and also she paid the requisite fee applicable to such category. Secondly, the payment of fee of Rs.50/- made by the petitioner, which is meant for SC candidate clearly betrays her intention to apply under SC category, when she is not belonging to the said category. Thirdly, it is brought to my notice that the examinations are slated tomorrow for the said post, therefore, she cannot come to this Court belatedly, just one day before the examination, seeking to excuse the inadvertent mistake made by her while filling up the application. On this count, this Court, finding no merit in the writ petition, is unable entertain the prayer of the petitioner.
