Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to carry out the sub-divisions and issue separate patta to the petitioners based upon the respective applications made by the petitioners dated 24.02.2023 (made by the 16th petitioner), 04.01.2024 (made by the 13th petitioner), 24.07.2024 (made by the 6th petitioner), 25.07.2024 (made by the 5th petitioner), 30.07.2024 (made by the 4th petitioner), 05.12.2024 (made by the 22nd petitioner) and 06.12.2024 (made by the petitioners 1 to 3, 7 to 12, 14, 15 and 17 to 21) in respect of the lands in S.Nos.149/2D3, 149/2D7, 149/2D8, 148/3B2B, 148/10, 149/2D4, 63/1C1A1E1A1, 148/12, 149/2D2, 149/2D5, 149/2D6, 148/15, 148/8, 148/14 and 148/13 of Tharamangalam Village, Omalur Taluk, Salem District.

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to act upon the applications submitted by the petitioners and to carry out sub-division and issue separate patta in the name of the respective petitioners.
2. Heard Mr.V.Elangovan, learned counsel for petitioners and 2/4
Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents.
3. Earlier this Court passed an order in W.P.No.30949 of 2019 dated 15.07.2020 directing the Sub-Registrar to register the documents and also a further direction was given to the Tahsildar to mutate the revenue records. Pursuant to the same, the documents were registered and joint patta was issued by the Tahsildar. The petitioners wanted the property to be sub-divided and for issuance of separate patta in the name of the respective petitioner. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.
4. Learned Special Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that the process is under way and that it will take some time for issuance of separate patta in the name of the petitioners.
5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court and considering the submissions made on either side, there shall be a direction to the first N.ANAND VENKATESH, J 3/4
gm respondent to act upon the application submitted by the petitioners and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
