ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to fix a time limit for the completion of the proceedings pending in P.R.C.No.10 of 2021 on the file of learned Judicial Magistrate II, Mannargudi.

The respondent police on completion of the investigation, have filed a final report against the accused person for an offence under Section 376, 417, 493 of IPC. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions submitted that the final report was taken on file in P.R.C.No.10 of 2021 by the learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.II, Manargudi, and the copies have been furnished to the accused person under Section 207 of Cr. PC and the case is now posted for committal under Section 209 of Cr.PC on 17.03.2021. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the Court below can be directed to commit the case on that day and a time limit can be fixed for the completion of the trial before the concerned sessions court. 3.

Taking into consideration the facts and

circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.II, Manargudi, to commit the case to the concerned Sessions Court on 17.03.2021. The respondent police shall ensure that the accused person is present on that day before the committal court. The trial court shall complete the proceedings within a period of three months after the charges are framed and the trial shall be conduced on a day to day basis.

This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above directions.
