ORDER

Mr.S.Prabhu, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for the respondents.

2. By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider his representation dated 23.11.2016 and to transfer the allotment from the name of Smt.Pappammal in his name, which is situated at Plot No.29 Jothiammal Nagar II Chennai-30. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

It is the case of the petitioner that inspite of his representation dated 23.11.2016 to the respondents to transfer the ownership of the premises from Smt.Pappammal to his name, the same has not yet been considered by the respondents. However, the petitioner has stated that he is the adopted son of late Smt.Pappammal and therefore, he is entitled to record his name as the allottee of the premises.

5. Mr.S.Prabhu, learned Standing Counsel, appearing for the respondents submitted that the respondents may be directed to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders in accordance with law, within a time frame.

6. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner in the writ petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.11.2016, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above observation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
