Mr.M.Elumalai, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondent and by consent of the parties, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner seeking for a direction to the respondent to consider his application dated 03.03.2017, wherein and whereby, he sought for granting of contract carriage permit.

3. Needless to say that it is for the respondent to consider the request of the petitioner and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, as this Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the claim made by the petitioner. However, as the application itself was made on 03.03.2017, the respondent is directed to dispose of the said application as expeditiously as possible, at any event, within https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
