This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to extend the benefit of special periodic pay to the petitioner by considering his representation dated 13.02.2020.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he joined the second respondent Village Panchayat in the year 2013 as Thumai Kavalar. Even thereafter, he was employed under the 100 Day Employment Scheme. In the year 2018, the petitioner was appointed by the Block Development Officer by his proceedings dated 11.04.2018. The grievance of the petitioner is that he is not being extended the benefit of special periodic pay for scavenging workers by https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
the second respondent. The petitioner made a representation to the first respondent in this regard on 13.02.2020. Since the same was not considered, the present Writ Petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.
3. Heard Mr.D.R.Arun Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.P.S.Sivashanmugasundaram, Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the first respondent and Mr.D.Suriya Narayanan, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the second respondent.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief that has been sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 13.02.2020, on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the first respondent along with a copy of the representation dated 13.02.2020 and a copy of this order.
5. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
