Respondents Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to issue family ration card in pursuance of petitioner's application dated 06.08.2014 assigned in Sl.No.T.99 by the 2nd respondent expeditiously.

By consent, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The grievance expressed by the petitioner is that he applied for family Ration Card (on Thatkal basis) on 06.06.2014 and he has also made payment of Rs.100/- and since, he was not favoured with any response, he submitted another application dated 06.08.2014 in Sl.No.T99. The petitioner thereafter, sent two emails in the form of reminders dated 07.09.2014 and 08.10.2014 and also invoked the provisions of Right to Information Act, to know about the action taken on his application and since, nothing happened so far, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Heard the submissions of Mr.S.Gopalaratnam, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Rm.Muthukumar, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice for the respondents. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the applications, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's applications dated 06.06.2014 and 06.08.2014, dispose of the same, on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible and not later than six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision to the petitioner.
