Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Habeas Corpus calling for the records relating to the detention order in Memo No.75/BCDFGISSSV/2020 dated 07.02.2020 passed by the 2nd respondent under the Tamilnadu Act 14 of 1982 and set aside the same and direct the respondent to Produce the petitioner's husband Manikandan, S/o.Dilliraj, aged about 30 years the detenu, now confined in Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai before this Court and set the petitioner's husband Manikandan, S/o.Dilliraj, aged about 30 years the detenu herein at liberty. The matter is heard through "Video Conferencing". 2.The Petitioner challenges the impugned order of detention in Memo No.75/BCDFGISSSV/2020 dated 07.02.2020 detaining her husband as "Goonda", as contemplated under Section 2(f) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.
3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor reports that the order of detention passed against the detenu has been revoked by the Government by its order in G.O. Rt. No.1417, Home, Prohibition and Excise (X) Department, dated 16.03.2020 and he has also produced a copy of the Government Order. Recording the same, this Habeas Corpus Petition is dismissed as infructuous.
