ORDER

The petitioners, who are arrayed as A1 and A2, in Crime No.20 of 2026 on the file of the respondent Police, have filed this petition to quash the proceedings.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the first petitioner/A1, received a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- from the defacto complainant on the promise of identifying a property for purchase. However, neither a property has been identified nor the amount has been returned. When questioned, the first petitioner was unable to give any answer for receipt of the huge amount of Rs.10,00,000/-. When the defacto complainant sought for explanation, he was threatened and abused.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that an FIR in Crime No.20 of 2026 was registered on 20.01.2026 and now the investigation is at the initial stage.

4. Since the investigation is at the initial stage, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the proceedings. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 25-03-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order PVS
