Petition under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, to punish the respondent herein for his wilful disobedience of the order of this court dated 03.07.2017 passed in W.P.No.16663 of 2017.

ORDER

Pursuant to the statutory notice issued to the respondent, Mr.T.Mathivanan, Tahsildhar, Anaicut Taluk, Vellore District, is present in the Court.

2. By order dated 03.07.2017, this Court passed an order in the writ petition in W.P.No.1663 of 2017 directing the 2nd respondent in the writ petition, viz., the Tahsildhar, Anaicut Taluk, Vellore District, to consider the petitioner's representation in accordance with law, after giving notice to all the interested parties.

3. The petitioner has filed the Contempt Petition stating that the respondent has not obeyed the orders of this court.

4. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.M.Elumalai, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent had complied with the orders of this court and considered the petitioner's representation dated 04.08.2017, by passing an order dated 22.12.2017.

5. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner also submitted that a copy of the order has been furnished to him.

6. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, I do not find any reason to keep the Contempt Petition pending. Accordingly, the contempt petition is closed. However, if the petitioner is aggrieved over the order passed by the respondent, it is open to the petitioner to challenge the same, in accordance with law.
