O R D E R

This Court, by an order dated 26.06.2013, in Crl.O.P.No.21352 of 2012, directed the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.396 of 2011 in accordance with law and file a final report, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of that order. Since the said order has not been complied with, within the stipulated time as directed by this Court, the present contempt petition has been filed.

2. When the contempt petition came up for hearing on https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 17.02.2015, this Court issued statutory notice to the

respondent. Pursuant to the notice, the respondent appeared before this Court. Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) for the respondent filed a detailed counter affidavit stating that pursuant to the order of this Court, the respondent sought for legal opinion from the Additional Public Prosecutor of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Chennai and filed a charge sheet against the accused for the offences under Section 406 and 420 of I.P.C. before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore, Chennai on 13.03.2015 and the same was taken on file vide C.C.No.947 of 2015, dated 13.03.2015.

3. Since the order of this Court has been complied with, nothing survives in this contempt petition and hence the contempt petition is closed.
