Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2019 according to the provisions of Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood Regulation) Act, 2014 made for granting permission / certificate of vending and till such time not to disturb with the running bunk shop at Periyapalli Street in Mandaveli, Chennai, wherein selling tea, coffee and food items by using LPG stove.

By consent of the learned counsel on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.According to the petitioner, the petitioner made a representation dated 02.01.2019 to the second respondent for granting permission / certificate of vending for his bunk shop at Periyapalli Street in Mandaveli, Chennai, wherein tea, coffee and food items are sold, under the provisions of Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood Regulation) Act, 2014 and further not to disturb the petitioner from running the shop till the permission / certificate is granted. Since the said representation has not been considered, he has come up with the present writ petition.

3.Mrs.Karthika Ashok, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents has submitted that the representation of the petitioner dated 02.01.2019 will be considered by the second respondent on merits and in accordance with law. 4.Considering the above submission made, without expressing any opinion as to the merits of the contentions raised by the writ petitioner in this writ petition, this Court is inclined to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2019 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to state that the petitioner has to furnish a copy of his representation along with a copy of this order to the respondents. 5.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
