surveying the same and retrieve and maintain the same free from encroachments for the purpose it is classified in view of the petitioner's representations dated 30.10.2023 and 31.12.2023. ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN,J.) This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to remove the encroachments made in the Government lands comprised in Survey Nos.2/2, 9/4, 17/1, 18, 21, 22/5, 32/2, 41, 46/2 situated in Kalathampattu Village, Melmalaiyanur Taluk, Villupuram District upon survey and retrieve and maintain the same free from encroachments for the purpose it was classified.
2. According to learned counsel for the petitioner, for removal of the encroachments made in the said Government lands, the petitioner has submitted representations dated 30.10.2023 and 31.12.2023 and the same have not been considered by the respondents till date.
3. Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submits that necessary action would be taken for removal of the encroachments within eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.
4. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 30.10.2023 and 31.12.2023 and conduct a survey of the Government lands in question and thereafter take appropriate action in accordance with law for removal of the encroachments, if any, after providing opportunity to the
petitioner as well as other interested parties. The entire exercise shall be completed by the respondents within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
