ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction directing the first respondent to pass appropriate orders on the representations of the petitioner submitted on 03.01.2024 and 02.02.2024 for sanction of full additional charge allowance for the period as mentioned in para 3 above, within a reasonable period as may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner was initially appointed on 22.10.2007 as Health Inspector at Sathyanagar Additional Primary Health Centre of Kolathur Block, Mettur Taluk. Subsequently, the petitioner was absorbed as Food Safety Officer in the year 2011. When the petitioner was working as Food Safety Officer in Vellore and Salem District, he was placed full additional charge of the Food Safety Officer in other blocks. Therefore, the petitioner submitted representations claiming full additional charge allowance as per Rule 49 of the Tamil Nadu Fundamental Rules, 1922. It is pending on the file of the first respondent. It is the further case of the petitioner that similarly placed person was given additional charge allowance as directed by this Court.

4. In view of the above, the first respondent is directed to consider the representations submitted by the petitioner on 03.01.2024 and 02.02.2024

seeking full additional charge allowance, in accordance with applicable Rule and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
