This writ petition has been filed for direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's request for appointment on compassionate ground on the death of his father. 2.

The petitioner's father was working as Village Assistant in Katrambakkam Village and he died while he was in service on 12.11.2003. The petitioner made application only on 23.08.2012. Admittedly, the petitioner failed to make any application within a period of three years from the date of the death of his father. Therefore, the prayer sought in the writ petition cannot be considered. As such, this writ petition is devoid of merits and liable to be dismissed. 2/4

Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
