Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to permit the petitioner to remit back the amount of Rs.2,27,30,000/- within three months after the 2016 - State Assembly Election is over and direct the respondent not to initiate any criminal proceedings against the petitioner in pursuant to the charge memo issued in Pa.O.Na.2(2)/113674/2015 dated 14.03.2016.

ORDER
The relief sought in this writ petition is to direct the respondent to permit the petitioner to remit back the amount of Rs.2,27,30,000/- within three months after the 2016 - State Assembly Election is over and also, to direct the respondent not to initiate any criminal proceedings against the petitioner in pursuant to the charge memo issued in Pa.O.Na.2(2)/113674/2015 dated 14.03.2016.
2. Today, when this petition was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is not pressing this writ petition. However, the learned counsel prayed this Court to issue appropriate direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.04.2016 which is pending consideration.
3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent has also conceded that the petitioner's representation dated 25.04.2016 is pending before the respondent.

In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.04.2016 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 18.07.2023 mrr Index : Yes/No Speaking Order (or) Non-Speaking Order To The Commissioner of Agriculture, Chepauk, Chennai - 5.
