Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, to punish the respondents for wilful disobedience of the order of this Court dated 13.08.2013 in W.P.No.34195 of 2012.

O R D E R
The petitioner filed this Contempt Petition against the respondents to punish them on account of their wilful disobedience of the order dated 13 August 2013 in W.P.No.34195 of 2012.
2. During the currency of this Contempt Petition, with the consent of the respondents, Thiru. Asragarg, IPS, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Administration, Chennai was appointed as the Enquiry Officer to conduct enquiry. The Enquiry Officer after detailed enquiry, submitted a report dated 01 October 2016. In the said report, he has indicated that the fourth respondent showed a sense of unwanted urgency and arrested the accused. According to him, the third respondent accompanied the fourth respondent, pursuant to the instructions given by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Washermenpet Range.
3. This Court, directed the Registry to hand over copies of the report to the respondents. The respondents, on perusal of the report, filed their response. Thereafter, this Court passed an order on 20 March 2017 directing the Commissioner of Police, Chennai, to consider the report and file an affidavit indicating the action to be taken against the concerned officials.
4. The Commissioner of Police filed an action taken report dated 07 April 2017 indicating that action has already been taken to initiate disciplinary proceedings
against the fourth respondent.
5. In view of the report submitted by the Commissioner of Police dated 07 April 2017, I consider it deem and fit to close the Contempt Petition. However, I make it clear that this order would not stand in the way of the petitioner or the other aggrieved, from initiating proceedings in accordance with the law.
