O R D E R

This petition has been filed to transfer the investigation in Cr.No.95 of 2018 pending on the file of the 3rd respondent to any other investigation agency.

2. The petitioner and his family members were attacked brutally on 25.02.2018 and while the petitioner was taking treatment in the hospital, his statement was recorded by the police, based on which, an FIR in Cr.No.95 of 2018 under Sections 294(b), 324 and 506(2) IPC read with Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002 was registered against four accused and investigation was taken up by the police. While so, it is the grievance of the petitioner that the police have not included Section 326 IPC, even though the accused were armed with deadly weapons and had caused serious injuries.

Learned counsel for the petitioner brought to the notice of this Court, the photographs that were captured from a CCTV camera in and around the area, which shows the accused armed with rods and sticks. There appears to be merit in the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the investigation in this case requires to be closely monitored.

4. Hence, this Court directs the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Perundurai Division, Erode, to personally monitor the investigation in Cr.No.95 of 2018 and take action in accordance with law expeditiously. The investigation shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
