Crime No.551 of 2023 was registered by the 1st respondent police and the complaint given by the 2nd respondent disclosed the offence punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 506(2) and Section 4 of the Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the dispute between the husband and wife was brought up due to matrimonial discard. Now, they have arrived at settlement and they have decided to part ways by mutual consent. The domestic violence complaint given by the petitioner as well as by the 2nd respondent has also been withdrawn.

3. In the said circumstances, the complaint in Crime No.551 of 2023 is to be quashed since the investigation has not yet been completed and it is appropriate that the parties appear before the 1st respondent police and report their settlement.

4. On recording the statement and memo of compromise, the 1st 2/4

respondent police shall close the complaint as settled.

5. With the above observation, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
