Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct 3rd respondent or any other competent authority as empowered to cancel the documents under the Tamilnadu Registration Act pertaining to the fake and fraudulent documents registered in document No.11186 of 2023 dated 17.6.2023 and document No.15258 of 2023 dated 21.8.2023 on the file of the 4th respondent (Sub Registrar, Hosur).

ORDER

The learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission of this Court to withdraw this writ petition with liberty to approach the Civil Court since the petitioner seeks for cancellation of certain registered documents through this writ petition, which is not maintainable.

2. It is settled law that a writ court while exercising its power under Article 226 of the Constitution of India does not have the power to cancel the registered document. Therefore, petitioner will have to approach the competent Civil Court.

3. Accordingly, in terms of the endorsement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of by granting liberty to the

petitioner to approach the competent Civil Court for cancellation of the documents referred to in the prayer to this writ petition. No Costs. 04-03-2026 RKM To
