Prayer:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing respondents to change the wrong entry of the father from "SHAIKH" to the correct father name "A.FEROZ" in the Birth Certificate of Miss.ZEAH issued bearing Registration No. 2016/ 09/ 122/ 000532/ 0, Registration dated 13/07/2016 within a stipulated period of time.

O R D E R

The writ petition is filed to direct the respondents to change the wrong entry of the father's name from "SHAIKH" to the correct father's name "A.FEROZ" in the Birth Certificate of Miss.ZEAH issued bearing Registration No. 2016/ 09/ 122/ 000532/ 0, Registration dated 13/07/2016 within a stipulated period of time.

2. With reference to the claim of the writ petitioner to change the father's name of the child in the birth certificate, the petitioner has not produced the relevant documents to establish the claim.

3. The learned counsel for the respondents would submit that the Birth Certificate was issued in the year 2016 and the application for correction is made after a lapse of about 8 years. Therefore, the petitioner has to submit all necessary and relevant document to establish his case for effecting name change.

4. It is needless to state that the petitioner, on submission of application, has to furnish all necessary documents to establish the claim. 2/4

In the absence of sufficient documents, the authorities may not be in a position to effect corrections in the Birth Certificate. Therefore, the petitioner is at liberty to produce all the relevant documents to the satisfaction of the respondents for considering the same.

5. With these clarifications the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
