The prayer in the writ petition is for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd Respondent to issue Ration Card in favour of the petitioner on the basis of his representation dated 20.01.2016.

The case of the petitioner is that he applied for a new ration card along with all necessary documents showing the removal of his name and his wife name from the ration card of their parents and house tax receipts, etc., on 23.12.2011. Till date, the application has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has sent a representation dated 20.01.2016 to the second respondent, seeking for issuance of a new ration card. Since no action is taken on the said representation, he has come up with this writ petition for the relief stated above. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.M.E.Rani Selvam, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.1.2016 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, by affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as to the necessary parties, if any, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion with regard to the claim made by the petitioner and it is for the second respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner strictly on merits and in accordance with law. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
