The petitioner - Mr.A.Jebakumar, seeking compassionate appointment, has given a representation dated 10.1.2000 to the respondents, as his father late Mr.T.Aron, while serving as a Fitter Grade II in the institute of Hydraulics and Hydrology, Poondi, unfortunately died on 3.8.1991, leaving behind his family without livelihood. Though the petitioner has been pursuing the matter for getting compassionate appointment and also made a further representation dated 7.3.2016, the respondents have not responded to the petitioner's representations.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner. Learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for respondents and submitted that a reasonable time may be granted to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders.

3. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 10.1.2000 made by the petitioner on merits and pass final orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt a copy of this order. No costs.
