Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Certiorari, calling for the records relating to the notification in Notification No.01/2018 dated 25.07.2018, Government of Tamil Nadu Public (Law Officers) Department on the file of the respondent and quash the same. ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking to quash the Notification No.01/2018 dated 25.07.2018, issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu Public (Law Officers) Department.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up, it is brought to the notice of this Court by the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondent that though the appointment of Law Officers was made based on the impugned notification, the period of the Law Officers to hold the said post has come to an end, and subsequently, the Government has passed a new order, and by virtue of the subsequent Government Order, new Law Officers have been appointed. Therefore, he submits that the prayer sought for in this Writ Petition has become infructuous, as no further adjudication is required.

3. In view of the above submission, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. However, the petitioner is at liberty to challenge the new Government Order, if he is so aggrieved and so advised. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
