Mr.T.M.Rajaangam, Government Advocate Order This writ petition has been filed praying for a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner representation dated 01.12.2025 for issuance of death certificate of his grand father, who died on 08.02.2009.
2. Case of the petitioner is that he is residing in Pudhupaiayam Village, Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District, along with his family members. His grandfather died on 08.02.2009 and at later point of time, in order to transfer patta for the petitioner's ancestral property in favour of him, he approached the respondents vide representation dated 01.12.2025 for issuance of death certificate of the grandfather of the petitioner. However, till date, the said representation has not been considered and the death certificate was also not issued. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the second respondent is directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 01.12.2025 by conducting proper enquiry and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.
5. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned counsel appearing for the respondents.
6. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 01.12.2025 for issuance of death certificate. The said official, after conducting proper enquiry, shall issue death certificate to the eligible person and pass appropriate orders in that regard within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
