ORDER

The petitioner seeks for issuing a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider his application dated 13.03.2017 which was submitted for renewing the licence in his favour for the year 2017-2018 for running the Chicken Stall carried on by him in the name and style of M/s. D.S. Chicken Centre, located at Keezhil Vedhi, Panapakkam Bus Stand, Panapakkam, Nemili Taluk, Vellore District https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. The petitioner is carrying on business in the name and style of M/s. D.S. Chicken Centre, located at Keezhil Vedhi, Panapakkam Bus Stand, Panapakkam, Nemili Taluk, Vellore District after obtaining a valid license from the respondent as contemplated under Section 269 of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act to carry on the said business. According to the petitioner, the license will be renewed by the respondent periodically and the license presently issued in his favour is having validity till 31.03.2017. While so, the petitioner submitted the application dated 13.03.2017 to the respondent. As the application of the petitioner was not considered by the respondent for renewal of license, he has come up with this writ petition.

3. I heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the material records placed. Having regard to the nature of relief sought for in this writ petition, without expressing any opinion on merits, the respondent is directed to consider the application dated 13.03.2017 submitted by the petitioner for renewal of licence and to pass orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
