O R D E R

In view of the innocuous relief that is prayed for, the Writ Petition is disposed of at the admission stage. It is made clear that this Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter and the writ petition is also disposed of without notice to the private respondents. Page Nos.2/6

2. The relief that is prayed for is only to dispose of the appeal petition pending before the first respondent. It is submitted on behalf of the Government Advocate that if appropriate time is granted, the same will be disposed of.

3. In view thereof, this Writ Petition is disposed of on the following terms:

(i) The first respondent is directed to take up the appeal petition dated 17.07.2023 filed by the petitioner.

(ii) The first respondent shall issue notice to the petitioner as well as the private respondents or any such other person as may be interested in the case and conduct an enquiry in the manner known to law and dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible and, in any event, not later than four months from the date of receipt of the web copy of the order, without waiting for the certified copy of this order.

There shall be no order as to costs.
