O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for direction to the respondents to grant appointment to the petitioner on compassionate ground.

2.

Heard, the learned counsel appearing on either side. 3.

The petitioner's father joined in the service as Sipanthi in the first respondent Department. While he was working at Malappambadi Village Office, he died on 06.01.2001 due to his illness. His father left behind the petitioner's mother, the petitioner and two daughters. Though his mother made application seeking appointment on compassionate ground, it was not considered. Therefore, after attaining majority, the petitioner made application on 18.07.2011.

4.

However, the application for appointment on compassionate 2/4

ground should be made within a period of three years from the date of the death of the Government servant as per GO.Ms.No.120 L&E Department dated 26.06.1995. Admittedly, the petitioner's father died on 06.01.2001 and he made application for compassionate appointment only on 18.07.2011 after lapse of a decade. That apart, the application submitted by his mother was already rejected by an order dated 19.06.2012 itself. Therefore, the prayer sought for in this writ petition cannot be considered. As such, this writ petition is devoid of merits and liable to be dismissed.

5.

Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
