This petition has been filed to direct the respondents to give police protection on the basis of the representation dated 06.07.2018.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that one Raja @ Sakthivel, S/o.Rajamuthu Gounder is the Administrator of Arulmigu Sri Mariyamman Temple in Edapadi Taluk, Salem District and that one Palanisamy and others are causing hindrance to the peaceful administration of the Temple. It is the further case of the petitioner that the Temple festival is to be held from 03.09.2018 to 07.09.2018 and therefore, a representation dated 06.07.2018 has been given to the Superintendent of Police, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

seeking adequate Police protection for the Temple function. After having given the said representation, the petitioner is before this Court with the above prayer.

3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate.

4.In the opinion of this Court, individual Police protection cannot be granted nor can this Court decide about the civil rights of the parties. It is not known whether the said Raja @ Sakthilvel, S/o.Rajamuthu Gounder has been legally appointed as Administrator of the said Temple. It is for the civil Court to decide the rights of parties. However, this Court directs the 2nd respondent Police to ensure that there is no violence or law and order problem, during the Temple festival. With the above direction, this petition is closed.
