Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first and second respondents to confirm the selection of the petitioner, in the selected post of Police Constable, Tamil Nadu Special Police, in the Combined Recruitment of Grade-II Police Constables/ Grade-II Jail Warden/Firemen-2010, as published in the official web-site of the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Service Recruitment Board on 25.11.2010, under register number 2200582, in order to initiate further selection process and consequently issue appointment order to commence the training for the selected petitioner, in the above said selected post, along with the other selected candidates.

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the first and second respondents to confirm the selection of the petitioner, in the selected post of Police Constable, Tamil Nadu Special Police, in the Combined Recruitment of Grade-II Police Constables/Grade-II Jail Warden/Firemen-2010, as published in the official web-site of the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Service Recruitment Board on 25.11.2010, under Register Number 2200582, in order to initiate further selection process and consequently issue appointment order to commence the training for the selected petitioner, in the above said selected post, along with the other selected candidates.
2.Since there is no representation for the petitioner, on 21.01.2019 this Court directed the Registry to post the matter 'for dismissal' on 23.01.2019. Today also, when the matter is taken up for hearing, none appeared on behalf of the petitioner.
3.Therefore, the Writ petition is dismissed for nonprosecution. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs.
