O R D E R

This petition has been filed to transfer the investigation in Crime No.1293 of 2016 pending on the file of the 3rd respondent police to Crime Branch Central Investigation Department (CBCID), Chennai and consequently direct the Crime Branch Central Investigation Department (CBCID) to conduct fresh investigation by an officer of not below the rank of Superintendent of Police and conclude the investigation within the time stipulated by this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. On the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the respondent police have registered a case in Cr.No.1293 of 2016 on 25.10.2016 under Section 420 IPC against three accused. It is the case of the petitioner that, he is a member of a political party Tamizh Maanila Muslim League and that the accused, who is the President of the said party had obtained Rs.10 lakhs from the petitioner on the promise of getting a ticket from the alliance partner AIADMK, for contesting the assembly elections and thereafter, neither obtained the ticket nor returned the money. Hence, the complaint.

3. Taking into consideration the nature of the allegations in the FIR, this Court is of the view that it will serve the interests of justice if the Assistant Commissioner of Police, T.Nagar, in-charge of Teynampet (T.Nagar District) personally monitors the investigation in Teynampet Police Station Cr.No.1293 of 2016 and completes the same expeditiously and it is ordered accordingly.

With the above direction, this petition stands disposed of.
