This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to transfer the investigation in FIR No.02 of 2022 on the file of CCB-I, Chennai to any other agency.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner was cheated by the accused to the tune of Rs.75 lakhs in connection with cryptocurrency dealings. Though FIR was registered on 20.11.2022, so far accused were not arrested and no effective investigation has been conducted, necessitating the filing of this petition.

In response, the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the respondents submitted that alleged crypto currency dealings had taken place following the modus operandi in multi-level business, wherein one person introduce another person and that person introduces another person and it goes on like that. Similarly, in this case, first accused met the petitioner to make investment. The investigation so far conducted in this case, revealed that the accused in this case were also cheated in the cryptocurrency dealings. He further submitted that, investigation is proceeding in the right line.

4. In the light of the submission made by the learned Government 2/4

Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that there is no need to order transfer of investigation. However, this Court directs the respondent to take proper and effective investigation in this case and file a final report as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of the order.

5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
