.. Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents, in particular respondents 4 to 6 to grant free electricity service connection to petitioner's agricultural land immediately situated at the Survey No.92/2 Palayamserthankudi, Orathur Post, Chidambaram Taluk, Cuddalore District within a stipulated time.

O R D E R

Mr.M.Varunkumar, learned standing counsel takes notice for the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The petitioner seeks for a direction to the respondents, particularly, respondents 4 to 6 to grant free electricity service connection to his agricultural land situated at Survey No.92/2 Palayamserthankudi, Orathur Post, Chidambaram Taluk,

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that though he is repeatedly making attempts periodically seeking for electricity service connection to his agricultural land, his request has not been considered so far. It is stated that the petitioner finally made a representation on 25.09.2017, ventilating his grievance.

5. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that though such representation made by the petitioner contains compensation for not providing electricity service connection all these years, the petitioner would be satisfied, if his request for providing free electricity service connection is considered on its own merits and appropriate time would be fixed by this Court.

6. Considering all these aspects, this writ petition is disposed of, by directing the respondents 4 to 6 to consider the request of the petitioner only insofar as granting free electricity service connection and pass orders on the same, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
