The mother of the petitioner purchased the property admeasuring to an extent of 1198 1⁄2 sq.ft in Madhavaram, Chennai - 60, by virtue of a registered sale deed dated 04.04.2005 in Document no. 2688 of 2005 and she was also paying statutory levies to the local body. Subsequently, she executed a settlement deed dated 26.05.2014 registered as Document No. 2856/2014 in favour of the petitioner and when the petitioner approached the 5th respondent, for change of name in the patta, she was informed that since somebody's name is already entered, patta cannot be issued. The petitioner, in this regard, submitted a representation dated 17.03.2015, to the respondents, praying for rectification of the entry made in the Town Survey Register by making physical verification and to issue patta in her name. Since, there is no response to the said representation, she has come forward to file this writ petition.

Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the facts and circumstances, directs the 4th and 5th respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.03.2015 and dispose of the same, in accordance with law, after putting on notice the persons concerned, as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
