ORDER

[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents herein to produce the daughter of the petitioner viz., Mageshwari, aged about 21 years, before this Court and set her at liberty forthwith.

2.It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Mageshwari, aged about 21 years, went missing from 03.03.2022 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

Police, E-3, Minjur Police Station, Chennai District. 4.On instructions, the Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Minjur Police Station Crime No.76 of 2022 has been registered on 03.03.2022 for 'woman missing' and investigation is in progress. In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Redhills Sub-Division, Tiruvallur District, to supervise the investigation in Minjur Police Station Crime No.76 of 2022 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue Mageshwari, aged about 21 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.II Ponneri, Tiruvallur District, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
