ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the second respondent to cancel the patta standing in the names of the respondents 4 to 6 for the property morefully disclosed in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, based on the petitioner's representation dated 10.01.2026.
2. The second respondent is not the competent authority to cancel the patta. The competent authority to cancel the patta issued in favour of the respondents 4 to 6 is Revenue Divisional Officer, Arakonam, Ranipet District. Therefore, Revenue Divisional Officer, Arakonam, Ranipet District, is impleaded as party 7th respondent in this writ petition by this Court by exercising its suo-motu power. Registry is directed to amend the cause title accordingly.
3. Mr.S.Arumugam, learned Government Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3 and 7. Since no adverse orders are passed against the respondents 4 to 6, notice to them in this writ petition is dispensed with.
4. The petitioner claims that illegally, the respondents 4 to 6 have obtained patta for the subject property. The petitioner seeks for cancellation of the same through her representation dated 10.01.2026.
5. No prejudice will be caused to the 7th respondent, if the aforesaid representation of the petitioner is considered, on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the objections of the respondents 4 to 6 as well as any other party whom the 7th respondent deems it fit to enquire, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the seventh respondent to pass final orders on the petitioner's representation dated 10.01.2026 seeking for cancellation of patta, which is presently standing in the names of the respondents 4 to 6, after hearing the objections if any from the respondents 4 to 6 as well as any other party whom the seventh respondent deems it fit to enquire, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the aforesaid representation of the petitioner. W.M.P.No.7543 of 2026 is closed. No Costs.
