O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to pass appropriate orders on the respondent's letter issued vide proceedings in Lr.No.E1A/27782/TNSTC/Salem/2016, dated 17.12.2016, within a stipulated period.

2. According to the petitioner, his father died in harness on 21.02.2012. Thereafter, he made a representation to the respondent seeking employment on compassionate grounds. The petitioner submitted his application for compassionate appointment to the respondent within the stipulated time. In response to that, the respondent had issued a letter dated 07.12.2016, vide its proceedings in Lr.No.E1A/27782/TNSTC/Salem/2016, calling upon the petitioner to verify the registration of his application and his certificates were also verified and the registration process was completed in all aspects. Thereafter, the petitioner has not received any response from the respondent and his application for compassionate appointment is still pending. Hence, he filed the instant writ petition before this Court.

3. Considering the limited scope of the prayer and without expressing any opinion on merits, this Court is inclined to direct the respondent to 2/4

consider the application of the petitioner, if it is in order and take appropriate decision as early as possible, preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the same to the petitioner.

4. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
