O R D E R

This petition has been filed challenging the order dated 06.02.2025, passed by the first respondent, thereby rejecting the request made by the petitioner seeking permission and Police protection to conduct Continuous Sit-in & Hunger Protest ("Thodar Kaathirippu & Unnaviradha Porattam") near Rajarathinam Stadium, Egmore, Chennai, for twenty (20) days starting from 19.02.2025.

2. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

3. On receipt of the said request, the first respondent rejected the same and further directed the petitioner to submit a fresh application for sitting and protest for one day, and it will be considered.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner sought permission for 20 days. However, due to various circumstances, permission for 20 days cannot be considered. As such, the first respondent rightly dismissed the request made by the petitioner.

5. In view of the above, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the order passed by the first respondent. However, if the petitioner submits a fresh application seeking permission to conduct Continuous Sit-in & Hunger Protest ("Thodar Kaathirippu & Unnaviradha Porattam") near Rajarathinam Stadium, Egmore, Chennai for two days, the first respondent is directed to consider the same and permit the petitioner for two days to conduct the said protest.

6. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
