Prayer:- Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to direct the respondents herein, to produce the petitioner's friend V.Kalaiarasu, Hindu aged about 27 years and set him at liberty. For Petitioner :

O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by P.VELMURUGAN, J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondents/Police to produce her friend V.Kalaiarasu/4th respondent herein, aged about 27 years and set him at liberty.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents/Police submitted that the detenu/4th respondent has given a statement before the Police that he has not been detained illegally by anyone and since his father had called him, he is staying with his parents.
3. The detenu/4th respondent also appeared through video conferencing and stated that he has not been detained illegally by anyone.
4. It is seen that the detenu/4th respondent was away from his parents and later, since his parents called him, he voluntarily went and staying with his parents. Therefore, there is no illegal detention. The petitioner has no way of being connected or relation to the detenu/4th respondent. Therefore, the petitioner is not entitled to file the Habeas Corpus Petition.
5. Hence, this Habeas Corpus Petition is dismissed with cost of Rs.10,000/-.
6. The petitioner is directed to pay the cost of Rs.10,000/- to the Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority, Chennai. [P.V.,J.] [M.J.R.,J.] 17.02.2026 Index: Yes/No ksa-2
