PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records in connection with the impugned order passed by the 3rd respondent in CV Intimation No.10/MRB/ 2023 dated 03.01.2026 and Notification No.10/MRB/ 2023 dated 11.10.2023 issued by the 3rd respondent to issue a new notification by allotting a reservation for sports quota and pass. ORDER
The above writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the impugned order passed by the third respondent in CV Intimation No.10/MRB/2023 dated 03.01.2026 as well as the Notification No.10/MRB/2023 dated 11.10.2023 and to issue a new notification by allotting reservation for sports quota.
2. The petitioner would submit that she had completed her S.S.LC., HSC and Multi-purpose Health (Workers) Training Course /Auxiliary Nurse Midwife Training Course, in Tamil Medium. She is an athlete in 100 meters, 200 meter
and long jump. The third respondent had issued recruitment notification dated 11.10.2023 calling for application for direct recruitment to fill up 2250 vacancies for the post of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife / Village Health Nurse and vide impugned order CV Intimation No.10/MRB/2023 dated 03.01.2026, the applicants were called for verification of certificates.

The grievance of the petitioner that neither in the recruitment notification dated 11.10.2023 nor in the CV Intimation dated 03.01.2026, had the 3rd respondent considered any additional marks for the sports quota as well as Tamil medium reservation. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court to quash the above impugned orders.
4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader and Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.
5. This Court vide its order dated 04.03.2026, has suo moto impleaded the Member Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, as 4th respondent, and Ms.Tanvi, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the newly impleaded respondent.

Development Authority of Tamil Nadu has produced before the Court the communication dated 03.01.2026, addressed to the SDAT by the Chairman, Medical Services Recruitment Board, wherein MRB has requested SDAT to sponsor eligible candidates under 3% reservation in selection for appointment of meritorious sports persons for the post of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife / Village Health Nurse in Tamil Nadu Public Health Subordinate Services. She also addressed the Court that the notification for sports quota would become live tomorrow (14.03.2026) and the petitioner can apply online. 7.Recording the same, the writ petition is disposed of. The petitioner shall submit her online application on 14.03.2026. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
