Respondents Prayer:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, declaring the entire acquisition proceedings initiated by the 1st Respondent under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 issued in Memo No. 83834-L.A II/62-1 Industries, Labour and Co-operation dated 15.06.1962 and in Memo No. 83834-LA I/62 Industries, Labour and Co-operation dated 16.06.1962, published in the Government Gazette on 20.06.1962 in respect of the lands of an extent of acre 5.16 cents comprised in S.No. 70/1, an extent of acre 2.27 cents comprised in S.No. 73/2 and an extent of acre 5.68 cents comprised in S.No. 77, totally admeasuring acre 13.11 cents, situated in Porur Village, Maduravoyal Taluk, Chennai District, (Previously Tiruvallur District) belonging to the petitioner, become lapsed, by virtue of operation of the provisions contained in Section 24(2) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Re-Settlement Act, (Act 30/2013).

The learned counsel for the petitioner made a submission that the petitioner died and inspite of all the efforts taken, the learned counsel is unable to secure instructions for the purpose of getting along with the writ petition.
2. The learned Additional Advocate General brought to the notice of this Court that the acquisition process was commenced in the year 1963 and the award was passed during the order 1963 itself. The assignment was granted in favour of the beneficiaries / third respondent during the year 1964 and the assignee is in possession.

3. That being the factum, no further adjudication is required and accordingly, the writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed. (sha) 21.08.2023 Index : Yes Speaking Order 4/6
