O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent University to restore the affiliation granted to the petitioner College (Stanley College of Education) on 28/1/2020 for M.Ed course based on the orders passed by the Southern Regional Committee of National Council for Teacher Education dated 7/1/2021.

2. The petitioner College is imparting B.Ed and M.Ed courses from the academic year 2007 - 2008 and 2008 - 2009, respectively, with approval and recognition from the National Council for Teacher Education and affiliation from the respondent University. Vide order of SRC, NCTE, dated 5/3/2020, the respondent University had withdrawn the recognition. Based https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

on the order, dated 5/3/2020, the respondent University has issued a show cause notice to the petitioner not to admit any students in the petitioner College.

3. The case of the petitioner is that they have filed an appeal before the NCTE, New Delhi, on 26/9/2020 and the same was allowed, on 7/1/2021. The National Council for Teacher Education, remanded the matter back to the SRC, NCTE, to consider afresh and accordingly, the Southern Regional Committee of NCTE decided to permit the petitioner College for continuation on recognition for M.Ed course of two years duration with an annual intake of 50 students, vide order, dated 7/1/2021.

In view of the above, this Court, without expressing anything on the merits of the case, it is open to the respondent University, to consider the case of the petitioner, by considering the representation of the petitioner and the orders passed by the Southern Regional Committee, on 7/1/2021, within a period of two weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
