ORDER

The petitioner, claiming to be the owner of the property in Door No.1B, Old No.46B, Podikadai Santhu, Gandhi Road, Sriperambadur was a consumer for the electricity service connection bearing S.C.No.538-001-007.

He had left for Bangalore in the month of May 2015 of his business purpose. After two years, he had come back to his native and found that the electricity service connection given to him in S.C.No.538001-007 was dismantled. Therefore, he has given a detailed representation seeking restoration of the electricity service connection. Since the said representation has not been

considered till date, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

Mr.S.K.Rameshuwar, learned standing counsel accepting notice on behalf of the respondents, referring to 22 (7) of the supply code submitted that the petitioner will be treated only as a new consumer as there is a long delay in making representation for restoration of the electricity service connection after disconnection took place in May 2015.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner readily agreeing to the said submission submitted that the petitioner can be treated as a new consumer for which he is also prepared to pay the legal charges including arrears and on receipt of the necessary charges, the respondent may be directed to restore the service connection.

4. Since the petitioner has agreed to become a new consumer, on payment of arrears and other charges applicable for restoration, the respondent shall consider the pending representation in terms of 22 (7) of the Supply Code within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the arrears and restoration charges.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
