Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.06.2018 in regard to promotion as Inspector of Police within a stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 27.06.2018 and to sanction the promotion as Inspector of Police. 2.The case of the petitioner is that he was enlisted as Sub Inspector of Police by direct recruitment in the year 1996 and he also completed his probation in the year 1999. When the petitioner was working as Sub Inspector of Police, a charge memo came to be issued against him and it ended in a punishment of reduction of time scale of pay by two stages for two years with cumulative effect, by an order dated 11.12.2003 passed by the 2nd respondent. The petitioner filed an appeal against the said order and the punishment was modified as reduction of time scale of pay by two stages for one year without cumulative effect. on 10.11.2004 and therefore, the petitioner claims that he is entitled for being considered for promotion to the post of Inspector in the panel for the year 2005-06. The petitioner had made representations in this regard on 06.11.2017 and 27.06.2018. Since there was no response, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.

3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents. 4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and also the limited relief that has been sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the representations made by the petitioner on 06.11.2017 and 27.06.2018 and pass appropriate orders strictly in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the 1st respondent along with a copy of the representations dated 06.11.2017 and 27.06.2018 and a copy of this order. 5.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No Costs.
