ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to register the complaint of the petitioner dated 20-01-2021 and investigate the allegations and initiate penal actions as per law.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had sent a complaint against the Chennai https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Corporation Officials and one Sathiyanarayanan, on 20.01.2021, making serious allegations. But, no action has been taken on the same, so far. Hence, the present petition.

3. The learned Additional Public prosecutor appearing for the respondent has filed a status report and submitted that on receipt of the complaint of the petitioner, petition No.6426/2021/PUB/CC-HQ was assigned and factual verification was carried out. As per Section 17(A)(i) of Prevention of Corruption Acct, 1988, prior approval of the competent authority is required. Hence, on 13.07.2021, the respondent police had sent a requisition to the competent authority for obtaining necessary prior approval. The copy of the petition was also sent, in advance, to the competent authority as prior intimation.

4. Recording the same, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
